March 2026 Scripture Writing Plan–Renew a Right Spirit

As winter begins to loosen its grip and the first signs of spring appear, March feels like a month of fresh beginnings. So what better time is there to focus on renewal?

This March Scripture writing plan is all new for 2026. It’s designed to help us seek God’s restoration, embrace repentance, and ask Him to renew a right spirit within us.

Sometimes life leaves us spiritually weary.

We don’t necessarily feel far from God… just tired. Distracted. A little dull in our devotion. And before long, we realize our hearts need more than motivation — they need renewal.

King David understood that need deeply. After recognizing his sin, he prayed these powerful words in Psalm 51:10 (KJV):

“Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me.”

That simple prayer is the heartbeat of this month.

Throughout Scripture, we see that God is a God of restoration. He restores broken hearts and revives dry spirits. He sanctifies and strengthens His children over time.

From the cries of David in the Psalms to the promises of renewal in the prophets, to the transforming power of Christ in the New Testament, the Bible reminds us that we are never beyond God’s restoring work.

He is always ready to make things new.

When David asked God to “renew a right spirit,” he wasn’t asking for new circumstances.

He was asking for a changed heart.

Renewal begins on the inside. It’s the quiet work God does when we humble ourselves before Him, confess our sin, and invite His Spirit to reshape our thoughts, attitudes, and desires.

When we allow Him to renew our spirit:

  • Our patience grows.
  • Our reactions soften.
  • Our joy returns.
  • Our homes feel more peaceful.

And instead of living in guilt or spiritual dryness, we begin to walk in restoration and hope.
