A few years ago, I was in a really bad place spiritually. I moved my focus away from Jesus, and all the beautiful blessings I had in my life. I was not content and I was not happy.
Suddenly, I was complaining a lot, and my spirit was becoming critical. Something had to change. I turned to God’s Word for help.

The Power of God’s Word
The Word of God is powerful, and it will change you from the inside. I started a Scripture writing plan where I wrote Bible verses about gratitude every day. Almost without realizing it, my attitude and life began to change.
The joy of the Lord filled my heart again. God reminded me of all the sweet blessings in my life.
For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.
Hebrews 4:12
This verse means that God’s Word works on us from the inside out. Our Heavenly Father is wise and loves us so much, He gave us His Word to guide us through every situation we face in life.
When the Holy Spirit lives in your heart, He can speak to you. His Word gives us the strength to go through battles, increases our faith and builds trust in Jesus Christ.
Writing Scripture is a great way to aid your spiritual growth and fill your heart with the peace of God. It’s also a meaningful way for new believers to start their spiritual journey of faith.
You’ll be amazed at the different ways your life will change as you read and study the Bible every day!

How to Start Scripture Writing for Beginners
Writing Bible verses every day is a great method of Scripture engagement. If you’ve never tried it, I encourage you to try this new way to read and study the Bible.
It’s a great option for Christian women and busy moms who don’t have a lot of time to spend every day. You only need a few minutes to dip deep into God’s Word and become a strong woman of faith.
It’s super easy to get started!
5 Easy Steps to Start Scripture Writing
- Choose a time: Carve out a specific time of day when you can dedicate 10-15 minutes to your Scripture plan. It could be part of your morning routine before the kids wake up, during naptime, or those last few peaceful moments before you go to sleep. You can fit it into any time of day that works for you.
- Set up a space: Create a designated area in your home where you’ll be able to focus on your Scripture writing. Keep all necessary supplies—such as your Bible, journal, and pens—within easy reach. (I like to keep all of my daily Scripture writing tools together in a little basket, so I can carry them anywhere.)
- Select your plan: Choose a Bible writing plan that resonates with you, or use one of our 12 free printable plans (see below). These plans offer a verse or passage for each day of the month.
- Write the Scriptures: Read your selected verse or passage and then write it out in your Scripture journal, taking the time to absorb and meditate on the Word.
- Reflect and pray: After writing the Scripture, take a moment to reflect on its meaning in your life and pray for clarity and understanding. Allow God to speak to your heart through the passages you’ve just read. You might even use a devotional prayer journal to guide you through Scripture writing and prayer.
The first thing to remember is that consistency is key, but perfection is not required! If you miss a couple of days, don’t give up. God’s Word will be right there waiting for you to come back.
