How is it that you can wake up at about the same time every day and go through the same routine, but some days are good and others are just really, really bad? If there was a way to guarantee every day would be a good day, we’d all do it! But even though we can’t make every day great, we can read good morning Bible verses to start each day right.

As a busy mom, reading your Bible every day can be a struggle. It’s hard to find the time, we get interrupted often and the cares of the day are usually pressing all around us.

Sometimes sitting down to read long chapters is just not a possibility. We know that Bible reading is a vital part of being a thriving Christian. But knowing we need to do it, and actually doing it are two different things.

That’s why having a list of go-to encouraging Bible verses to start your day is a great place to start building a daily Bible habit.

Using Bible Verses to Make Your Day Better

Satan knows that we gain strength from reading the Bible, so he does everything in his power to keep us from God’s Word. That fact alone shows us how vitally important it is to spend time reading each day.

The Bible isn’t like any other book. It is alive and works in our hearts and lives every day.

For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. Hebrews 4:12

Starting your day with morning verses doesn’t necessarily mean you’ll have a great day and everything will go your way. But it does mean that you’ve had an opportunity to hear from God before you’ve faced any trying issues.

There are times you will read something in the morning that will give you the strength to face your day. Even though you don’t know the situations you may face, God does. And He can give you peace and joy beforehand in your morning devotional time.

What is a Good Bible Verse to Read in the Morning?

There are plenty of morning verses to start the day that will help you to face whatever happens. But there are some verses that offer particular encouragement.

I love to read a chapter in Proverbs every day. Even though I’ve done this consistently for many years, I’ve found that no matter how many times I read it, I always glean something new.

Other powerful Bible verses for morning are verses that remind us that a new day is a chance to start fresh, verses that offer us hope, and verses about God’s love for us.

It is of the Lord's mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not. They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness. Lamentations 3:22-23

How to Start a Morning Bible Study

When you’re a busy mom, it can be hard to find the time to start reading and studying the Bible every day. But when you’re in the business of raising kids who love Jesus, leading by example is vital.

We need to show them that filling our minds with Scripture is important. The time of your daily Bible reading may vary due to your season of life.

When you have really little kids, reading the Bible may need to happen during naptime, or after they go to bed. There may be times when your kids are elementary age that you can spend time reading together.

Psalm 63:1 shows us the importance of reading first thing in the morning: “O God, thou art my God; early will I seek thee: my soul thirsteth for thee, my flesh longeth for thee in a dry and thirsty land, where no water is;”

After a long night of sleep (as long as any mother can get), I wake up needing a drink. And while I know I should reach for a tall glass of water, my body and brain are craving a nice cup of coffee.

We should crave God’s Word that way. We should start to crave His presence as soon as we open our eyes.

Carving out a time to spend with the Lord each day, reading the Bible, and saying a morning prayer will make a difference in your life.
