July 2026 Scripture Writing Plan: Freedom in Christ

In this post: Celebrate your freedom in Christ with this free Scripture writing plan. Read and write these verses to remind you about what Jesus did for you!

In July, my heart fills with gratitude for those who sacrificed so much for the freedoms we enjoy in America. I’m thankful for the men and women who have faithfully served our nation and protected those freedoms.

But as I celebrate Independence Day, my thoughts also turn to an even greater sacrifice.

Because Jesus died on the cross and rose again, I have been given a freedom that no earthly government could ever provide.

In Christ, I am free.

I’m no longer a slave to sin. I don’t have to live in bondage to fear, guilt, shame, or condemnation. Through Jesus, I am forgiven, redeemed, and adopted into God’s family.

What a wonderful gift!

What is Freedom in Christ?

When the world looks at Christianity, some people assume that following Jesus means living under a long list of rules. But the Bible paints a very different picture.

Jesus didn’t come to put us into bondage. He came to set us free.

As believers, we obey Christ not because we are trying to earn His love, but because we already have it. We follow Him because we love Him and trust Him.

God’s commands are not burdensome. They are given by a loving Father who knows what is best for His children.

We don’t find true freedom by doing whatever we want. We find true freedom by walking with the One who created us.

As Galatians 5:1 reminds us:

“Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage.”

This month, I invite you to celebrate the freedom you have in Jesus by reading and writing these Bible verses. May they remind you of the peace, joy, and liberty that belong to every child of God.

Scripture Writing Plan: Freedom in Christ

This month, we’re focusing on Bible verses about freedom in Christ. These verses remind us of Jesus’ sacrifice on the cross. But they also remind us of the transformation Jesus offers us.

Our theme verse for this month is John 8:36.

If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed.

No longer a slave. But free indeed. Truly free.

Verses About Freedom in Christ

Our enemy, Satan, knows that he cannot take our salvation from us. Instead, he tries to discourage us and keep us from serving God.

One way he does this is to keep us in bondage. He holds us back with guilt, fear, shame, and condemnation.

The truth is, we are already free from these things. Satan makes us believe these things hold us. But, they don’t. Jesus set us free from them.

God’s Word reminds us of this truth.

Here are some of the verses included in this month’s plan:

  • John 8:36
  • Galatians 5:1
  • Romans 8:1
  • Romans 6:18
  • 2 Corinthians 3:17

…and many more verses about freedom from sin and condemnation.

This plan also reminds us of Christ’s deliverance and liberty, and how we can live daily in freedom, peace, and the fruit of the Spirit.

As you read and write these verses, take comfort in knowing that Jesus has set you free. Free to live for Him. Feel free to pursue God’s plan for you–not held back by shame or fear.
