Whitney Garrett has never stuck to anything in her life. But now she’s decided to go to culinary school. She just has to earn enough money.

There’s only one catch. She needs her oven to bake pies to earn the money. But her oven is broken and without it there will be no pies, no money and no culinary school.

She asks her friend, Marie, for permission to use the ovens at the Red Door Inn. In exchange, she’ll take care of serving breakfast to the guests and be a nanny for Marie’s kids.

Staying at the inn is Aretha Franklin Sloan’s nephew, Daniel. She enlists Whitney’s help to play cupid and make a match with Daniel and the inn’s other guest, Ruby.

But as Whitney learns more about Daniel, she starts to think Ruby isn’t the best match for him. In fact, she thinks she just might be the best match for Daniel.

What will Aretha do when she finds out her plan didn’t work out like she hoped?

Meddling with Mistletoe Review

Meddling with Mistletoe is my first book from this author. I didn’t realize when I decided to read it that it’s the sequel to a series.

I felt like I was missing out on some good backstories for the side characters. However, it didn’t take away from the main story for me.

I loved Whitney’s character, and found her so relatable. I loved that she was silently winning Daniel’s heart while just being herself.

I also loved Daniel. His heart was so broken, and Whitney put it back together again. His character was so serious and kind of sad, and it was nice to see him change and grow over the course of the story.

I always enjoy reading slow, sweet love stories that don’t necessarily need a grand gesture. It feels more authentic to me.

Christmas is the perfect time of year to indulge in romance, and Meddling with Mistletoe is a great choice.

It’s not too long, the characters are genuine and the story is sweet. Not to mention it’s full of yummy pies that make me want to bake!

You’re going to want to read Meddling with Mistletoe this Christmas season!
