7 Legitimate Stay-at-Home Mom Jobs That Require ZERO Experience

Are you looking for work-at-home jobs that will allow you to spend more time with your kids? Here are six legitimate opportunities that you can start today!

It seemed that we always had a bit more month than we had money. My little family wasn’t living in poverty. We had plenty of food, and our bills were paid. But we had very little margin in our budget. If we had an emergency, where would the money come from to cover it?

I loved being a stay-at-home mom, and I knew it was God’s calling for me. But I badly wanted to contribute to my family’s finances. I wanted us to be able to do fun things on weekends, not worry about how we’d pay the taxes and have a little bit of extra money to spend on stuff we just wanted.

I tried for a long time to find something I could do at home. I tried cleaning other people’s homes. I hated it. Plus, it required to me to leave my kids, which wasn’t an option with my husband’s work schedule.

MLMs just weren’t for me. I’m a terrible salesperson, and I ended up losing money buying my own products. (Yes, I’ve tried MULTIPLE direct sales companies, with the same result every time.)

I’m not against direct sales. They work great for some people. But many of them are scams, and most of the sales reps don’t make any money.

I needed something different. I wanted to work for myself, on my own time, and be able to do something I really enjoyed.

Then, I found online jobs for moms, and my world changed.

How to Make Money as a Stay-at-Home Mom

In 2017, I watched a free webinar about becoming a Virtual Assistant. It was from two women who explained how they started their own side jobs as stay-at-home moms.

As I listened to them talk, I knew being a VA was something I could do. Their course was very reasonably priced. I talked to my husband, and he agreed to let me give it a try.

I got my first client in January of 2018, and I’ve slowly built my business since then. I’ve made a lot of changes to the types of services that I offer.

Over time I’ve gained more skills and now I’m able to be pretty picky about the clients I choose. While I started out working as a social media VA, I’m now a freelance writer.

I’ve had the opportunity to work with some great women, all while staying home with my kids. My family is working to be debt-free, and I’m so proud that I can contribute to that goal.

You can find legitimate work-from-home jobs for moms. And there are awesome jobs for moms who don’t have a college degree. (Like yours truly.)

You might need to think outside the box. And you have to be willing to learn. But it truly is possible to make money while staying home with your kids–without having to host parties, keep inventory, or find a babysitter for your kids.
