Can you believe August is already here? Summer is in full swing, and with the kids out of school, our days are busier than ever.
Between playdates, summer camps, and keeping the household running smoothly, it can be hard to find a moment for ourselves. So where do you find time to spend time in the Word of God?

If you’re anything like me, you’ve probably felt the tug on your heart to spend more time in Scripture. But when you’re a busy mom, you might wonder how to fit it into your packed schedule.
Trust me, I get it. That’s why I’m so excited to share a simple, yet profoundly impactful way to stay connected with the Bible: topical Scripture writing plans.

What is Scripture Writing?
Scripture writing is a practice where you write out verses from the Bible by hand. It’s a wonderful way to slow down and meditate on God’s Word. When you take the time to write, you’re letting each verse sink deep into your heart.
The purpose of a Scripture writing plan is to help you engage with the Scriptures in a personal way. It makes the words come alive as you write them out.
Using a themed monthly plan will help you focus on having a deeper relationship with Jesus Christ. It’s a powerful way to grow your faith as you become more familiar with the Bible.
How to Get Started Writing Scripture
Getting started with Scripture writing is easy and doesn’t require any special materials. Here’s how you can begin:
- Download the Free Printable: I’ve created a special Scripture writing plan for August, filled with verses that will uplift and encourage you. You can download it here.
- Find a Quiet Spot: Set aside a few minutes each day in a quiet corner of your home. It could be early in the morning before the kids wake up or in the evening when the house is calm.
- Write and Reflect: Take your time writing out each verse. Reflect on the words and what they mean to you. Let God’s truth strengthen and encourage you.

Supplies to Enhance Your Scripture Writing
Want to turn Scripture writing into a creative and meaningful experience? Here are a few things that can make it extra special:
Scripture writing journal or prayer journal – Keep all your verses in one place.
Pretty pens – Make writing more enjoyable with smooth, colorful pens. (these are my current fave!)
Highlighters – Emphasize keywords and phrases to reflect on later. (I love this brand, because they don’t bleed.)
Bible study stickers – Decorate your pages and add visual reminders of God’s promises.
Of course, you can keep it simple with just a notebook and a pen! The goal is not to make it perfect—it’s to spend time with God’s Word.
