Is it possible to be a busy mom who’s also a student of God’s Word? It sometimes involves spending hours every day with commentaries, pens, journals, and devotionals.

I don’t know about you, but between folding laundry, homeschooling my kids, and doing all the cooking and cleaning, hours for Bible study are hard to come by.

Thankfully, God doesn’t need hours of our time to speak to us! Our Heavenly Father wants us to spend time with Him, and He makes it possible for us to do it!

The purpose of a Scripture writing plan is to help you have a daily quiet time with God. Having a list of Scriptures to refer to will help you focus on the areas of spiritual growth where you need to be strengthened.

What is Scripture Writing?

Scripture writing is a Bible study technique that involves writing Scripture verses by hand. While the concept sounds simple, it’s actually a powerful practice. When you write Bible verses, it forces you to slow down.

Sometimes we get distracted when we’re reading the Bible, especially if it’s a long chapter or passage. Sometimes I’ve had to read a verse (or several) multiple times because I realize my mind was somewhere else.

But writing Scripture helps you to focus. Something special happens when you put pen to paper and write Scripture. The Bible says that His Word is powerful. It has the unique ability to change us from the inside out.

All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: 2 Timothy 3:16

If you are struggling in a particular area in your spiritual journey, using a monthly plan to write God’s promises and commands on that topic will strengthen and encourage you.

How to Start Scripture Writing This June

As we head into the summer months, sometimes the days move slower and we have more time for Bible study. June is the perfect opportunity to start a Scripture writing plan.

Challenge yourself to write consistently for the thirty days of June. Set aside a particular time each day when you will sit down with your Bible, free Scripture writing plan, and journal.

As you build this habit, you’ll start to reap the sweet blessings that come from spending time with God every day.

Supplies to Use with Your Scripture Writing Plan

If you want to make your Scripture writing an enjoyable experience, you can add a few products. (Totally unnecessary, but fun.)

Of course, you can keep your Scripture writing as simple as possible. But it can also be a creative way to enjoy your favorite Bible passages with journaling or hand lettering. You might even find that you love creating Scripture art.

You can use regular white paper, or print on cardstock to make it more durable. The plan is easy to print using your home printer because it doesn’t use a huge amount of ink. (I love my HP printer with the HP instant ink program. It saves me so much stress and money!)

While it’s not necessary, a journaling Bible is also a great bonus to have for Scripture writing. I use this one from Kingfolk. Not only is it beautiful, it helps me dig deeper into God’s Word and take notes as I’m reading.

Remember, these extras are fun to have, but make sure you don’t miss the purpose of Scripture writing. Whether you use regular printer paper or go all out with a dedicated Scripture journal, you’ll grow in your Christian life!

It doesn’t matter how plain or fancy it is, as long as you learn God’s Word and deepen your faith!

    June Scripture Writing Theme

There are so many things I don’t know as a mom. Just check out mom Facebook groups and you’ll realize most of us aren’t sure what we’re doing.

Thankfully, I know Someone Who knows everything! My Heavenly Father has all wisdom and knowledge, and He has promised to share it with me if I ask Him.

If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him. (James 1:5)

So, in the month of June, we’re focusing on Bible verses about wisdom. What it is, why we need it, and how to get it.

You see, it’s not as hard-to-reach as you might think. These Bible verses will show you what it means to be wise in God’s eyes. Dig deep into these passages and learn more about the wisdom that God gives to moms and how we can use it in our lives!
