When we hide God’s Word in our hearts, we can learn to apply it in real-life situations. Even short Bible verses are powerful and they remind us of the amazing promises of God.

    Why Does Scripture Memory Matter for Young Children?

    As moms, we’re always looking for creative ways to encourage our kids to build faith. Helping them learn Bible verses from a young age is a vital part of helping kids learn about our great God. 

    We can try to force our kids to memorize words, but using something fun like the alphabet is a better way–and a more colorful way to help them memorize Bible verses for good. The Bible tells us how we can have eternal life with the Lord Jesus Christ in Heaven.

    I certainly want my children to have their own understanding of God’s love and the gift of salvation. They get that knowledge through reading and memorizing Bible verses! Yes, young kids can start to build their knowledge of God.

    Use the 26 letters of the alphabet and a corresponding Bible verse for each letter to start memorizing Scripture.

    B-Be ye kind one to another. Ephesians 4:32

    C-Children, obey your parents in the Lord: for this is right. Ephesians 6:1

    D-Depart from evil, and do good; Psalm 37:27

    E-Even a child is known by his doings. Proverbs 20:11

    G-God is love. 1 John 4:8

    H-Honor thy father and thy mother. Exodus 20:12
