Confident in Christ: 30 Bible Verses About Confidence for Moms

Have you ever felt like you’re searching for confidence in all the wrong places? You’re not alone. Many of us, especially moms, struggle with low self-esteem and self-worth at different stages of our lives. These Bible verses about confidence will guide you through finding true confidence—not in yourself, but in Christ.

beautiful and confident woman

I have struggled with confidence and self-esteem issues my whole life. I was a frizzy-haired teen with braces and glasses. Considered a weirdo among my friends, I never felt like I fit in.

I always thought that when I got married, I would learn how to be confident. Knowing my husband loved me would give me confidence in myself.

When that didn’t work, I thought becoming a mom would help me finally feel confident and comfortable in my own skin.

But it never happened.

It wasn’t until I started reading Bible verses about confidence that I realized I was searching for confidence in the wrong place. True confidence doesn’t come from within. It comes from knowing that Jesus loves me.

I know who I am in Christ, and that I am valuable in His eyes. I don’t need to worry about how others see me, or what they think of me.

As His child, I have confidence that He loves me no matter what. His love doesn’t change, and I can be bold in Him.

That’s the beauty of putting your confidence in Christ. You can rest in His steadfast love, letting the peace of God fill your heart. You are a child of God, made in His own image. He takes great delight in you.

Knowing God’s great love for you gives you the confidence to follow His plan for your life.

What is True Confidence?

Many women struggle with a lack of confidence because we’ve lost sight of what it means to be confident. We’ve been led to believe that it means believing in yourself.

But true confidence isn’t about feeling good about yourself. It’s about knowing who you are in Christ.

Instead of searching for validation within or from others, place your trust in the Lord Jesus Christ. You can find confidence in His sacrifice on the cross.

When you understand your identity in Christ, you’ll discover a confidence that never wavers.

How God’s Word Inspires Confidence

The Bible is filled with verses that remind us of God’s love, our worth in His eyes, and the strength we can draw from Him. These Scriptures are not just words but powerful affirmations. Knowing what the Bible says about confidence can transform your self-perception and bolster your faith.

Through the power of the Holy Spirit, you can find the perfect love of God. The Bible is God’s love letter to us. Jesus’ death on the cross is a powerful reminder of His great love.

True confidence doesn’t come from being thin, having great hair, or a perfect smile. As a child of God, your confidence comes from knowing that He loves you and knows you intimately. He counts the very hairs of your head.

God knows all of your shortcomings, faults, and failures. And He loves you anyway.

You can rest confidently in His great love for you.

30 Bible Verses About Confidence

When you lack confidence, you can’t live up to your full potential for Christ. But you may be looking for confidence in the wrong place. You can’t find confidence in yourself.

But children of God can find their confidence in Him. These powerful Bible verses from the Word of God show you how you can make Him the stronghold of your life and trust in the power of God instead of leaning on your own understanding.

These verses are all taken from the King James Version of the Bible.

Proverbs 3:26

For the Lord shall be thy confidence, and shall keep thy foot from being taken.

As a mom, I often struggle with the fear of sudden disaster. But when my confidence is in the Lord, I know that He keeps me, my husband and even my little children safe. Do bad things happen? Yes.

But God’s power is greater than yours or mine, and He is working things for our good. We only need to trust Him.

Isaiah 41:10

Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness.

As a child of God, you never have to be worried or afraid. I know that’s easier said than done!

But God is always with His children and offers us the strength we need. All you need to do is hold on to His righteous right hand and let Him guide you.

2 Corinthians 3:5

Not that we are sufficient of ourselves to think any thing as of ourselves; but our sufficiency is of God;

Modern society wants you to believe that you are enough. But you aren’t. Human wisdom and human strength aren’t enough.

But Christ’s power is enough. God’s strength is enough. You are not sufficient on your own, but you can do great things when you find your confidence in Him.

Hebrews 13:6

So that we may boldly say, The Lord is my helper, and I will not fear what man shall do unto me.

Our enemy, Satan, wants us to be timid and scared. But when we find our confidence in the power of Christ, we can be bold.

You are a child of the King. Jesus is there with you, and you are capable of doing good things through Him.

1 John 3:20-21

For if our heart condemn us, God is greater than our heart, and knoweth all things. Beloved, if our heart condemn us not, then have we confidence toward God.

The world will tell you to “trust your heart,” but God tells us that you can’t. Your hearts want us to believe that you are okay.

But God is the real truth-teller. You cannot trust your own heart, but you can trust Him. Have confidence in Him and believe His Word over the thoughts of your heart.

Philippians 4:13

I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.

Yes, you can do great things for God. But not with your own abilities. The arm of flesh will always fail.

When you depend on God, and find strength in Him, you can have good courage. You are capable of great things when you trust Him.

Romans 15:13

Now the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that ye may abound in hope, through the power of the Holy Ghost.

If life is looking bleak, the best way to find hope is to look for it in God. You can have confidence that He is working all things for your good.

Let the Spirit of God fill you with joy and peace because you believe and trust in Him.

Hebrews 10:35-36

Cast not away therefore your confidence, which hath great recompence of reward. For ye have need of patience, that, after ye have done the will of God, ye might receive the promise.

Don’t lose faith in God because He’s not moving as fast as you want. Paul writes these verses to the Hebrews to remind them that patience is a part of trusting God.

Having confidence in the Lord often means waiting for His timing. He keeps His promises, but only in His time.

Proverbs 28:26

He that trusteth in his own heart is a fool: but whoso walketh wisely, he shall be delivered.

We usually think of confidence in terms of believing in ourselves. But Solomon tells us that a person who trusts themselves is a fool. Wisdom comes when we put our confidence in the Lord.

Psalm 20:7

Some trust in chariots, and some in horses: but we will remember the name of the Lord our God.

There are lots of places you can put your confidence. As modern women, we probably aren’t trusting in horses or chariots.

But we can also know confidence doesn’t come from a dress size or frizz-free hair. True confidence comes from trusting in God.

1 John 3:22

And whatsoever we ask, we receive of him, because we keep his commandments, and do those things that are pleasing in his sight.

Confidence in Christ means asking Him to give us His best. We receive what we ask because we ask for things that please Him.

James 4:13-15

Go to now, ye that say, To day or to morrow we will go into such a city, and continue there a year, and buy and sell, and get gain: Whereas ye know not what shall be on the morrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapour, that appeareth for a little time, and then vanisheth away. For that ye ought to say, If the Lord will, we shall live, and do this, or that.

Are you a “planner girlie?” I love my planners! But sometimes we put too much confidence in the plans we have made. God wants us to have confidence in His plans for us instead.

Life is short, and it rarely works out exactly like we plan. But we can fully trust in His will for us. His plans are always better.

Proverbs 14:26

In the fear of the Lord is strong confidence: and his children shall have a place of refuge.

This verse shows us that our confidence is connected to our faith. The fear mentioned in this verse is awe and respect for the Lord. This fear increases our confidence because we know that He is a strong refuge for our souls.

Psalm 27:1-3

The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? the Lord is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid? When the wicked, even mine enemies and my foes, came upon me to eat up my flesh, they stumbled and fell. Though an host should encamp against me, my heart shall not fear: though war should rise against me, in this will I be confident.

Unwavering faith and trust in the Lord is the ultimate source of confidence. Living for the Lord will sometimes make us unpopular, and may even make people hate us.

But when the Lord is on our side, we have no reason to be afraid of anyone or anything. No matter what happens, we can rely on Jesus for strength.

1 Timothy 6:17

Charge them that are rich in this world, that they be not highminded, nor trust in uncertain riches, but in the living God, who giveth us richly all things to enjoy;

Many times people who are well-off financially have confidence in their money or possessions. This verse reminds us that we should anchor our confidence in the Lord instead of riches.

True confidence goes beyond possessions because you’re putting your faith in the abundance of your Heavenly Father.

2 Corinthians 1:9

But we had the sentence of death in ourselves, that we should not trust in ourselves, but in God which raiseth the dead:

I don’t know about you, but I’ve never personally raised anyone from the dead–but God has! I know that my earthly body will die one day.

But I have 100% confidence that I will open my eyes in Heaven where I will live forever with my Heavenly Father. Hallelujah!

Isaiah 30:15

For thus saith the Lord God, the Holy One of Israel; In returning and rest shall ye be saved; in quietness and in confidence shall be your strength: and ye would not.

Sometimes the loudest people seem to be the most confident. But true confidence in the Lord is a quiet, peaceful strength. Our salvation doesn’t come through our hard work, but through what He did for us on the cross.

1 John 5:14

And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us:

We have confidence in God’s best for us. When you live in His will and trust Him, He will grant your requests. Even if the answer isn’t what you expect, you know that it is His will–and that makes it good.

Romans 8:28

And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.

This verse from the book of Romans reassures us that God orchestrates all things for our good. It reminds us that even in the middle of challenges or tough times, He is working. We can always have confidence in His unwavering goodness and love for us.

Hebrews 11:1

Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.

Faith is the foundation of our hope. By trusting God and embracing faith, you’ll find strength and confidence in His promises. Our faith believes in things beyond what we can see or understand.

Romans 8:38-39

For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

People fail us. And honestly, we fail ourselves. But Jesus never fails us. He loves us no matter what. Nothing can separate us from the love of God.

You can have complete confidence in an unchanging God in an ever-changing world.

Hebrews 4:16

Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.

Because of Jesus’ death on the cross, we can put our confidence in Him for eternity. We can come to God’s throne of grace boldly, making requests and asking Him for help and strength.

Psalm 62:8

Trust in him at all times; ye people, pour out your heart before him: God is a refuge for us. Selah.

Sometimes you just need someone to talk to who understands what you’re going through. But other human beings can’t understand your struggles. Thankfully, you have a Heavenly Father Who always understands. He invites you to pour out your heart to Him, and have confidence that He will hear and answer.

Philippians 1:6

Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ:

God created you for a purpose! He began a work in your life the day you accepted Christ as your Savior. He won’t stop.

Your confidence comes from knowing that He is working in you. He has a plan and you can trust Him to fulfill it.

Galatians 5:10

I have confidence in you through the Lord, that ye will be none otherwise minded: but he that troubleth you shall bear his judgment, whosoever he be.

Paul had confidence in the church of Galatians that they would remain steadfast in the Lord. Would he have the same confidence in you?

Jeremiah 12:5

If thou hast run with the footmen, and they have wearied thee, then how canst thou contend with horses? and if in the land of peace, wherein thou trustedst, they wearied thee, then how wilt thou do in the swelling of Jordan?

This verse in Jeremiah paints a picture of someone who couldn’t run in their own strength. You and I cannot live a Christian life in our strength either.  But when we put our confidence in the Lord, He fights our battles for us.

Psalm 118:24

It is better to trust in the Lord than to put confidence in man.

Have you ever trusted someone, and they let you down? I would say we all have! Humans can’t be trusted. Even our best efforts will fail.

But Jesus never fails. We can trust Him all the time and in every situation.

Psalm 33:16

There is no king saved by the multitude of an host: a mighty man is not delivered by much strength.

Strength and power can’t protect anyone. Even kings and mighty men cannot depend on their own strength.

It’s God Who ultimately protects and keeps us safe. Trusting in yourself or even someone else to protect you won’t get you very far. Put your confidence in Him.

Hebrews 3:14

For we are made partakers of Christ, if we hold the beginning of our confidence stedfast unto the end;

Don’t let your faith waver, friend! Remain confident and steadfast in Christ and trust His plan.

Jeremiah 17:7

Blessed is the man that trusteth in the Lord, and whose hope the Lord is.

If you want blessings in life, keep trusting the Lord. Let your hope be in Him. Don’t believe the lies that you are good enough on your own or that you should trust your heart.

Be confident in Christ and recognize who you are in Him. When Jesus is your hope, you can have true confidence.
