Book Review: Your New Now by Nicki Koziarz

There’s a saying that goes, “Life doesn’t seem to change from day to day, but if you wake up a year from now, your whole life will be different.” Even if your life doesn’t seem to be changing right now, it is. In her new book, Your New Now Nicki Koziarz talks about all the changes we go through, and how we can face them with grace and grow in times of transition.

As a mom, I feel like my life is always a transition state. My boys need me a little less every day. (Seriously, my youngest started making his own sandwiches, and it made me proud and kinda broke my heart.) Those little transitions add up over time.

But there are also big transitions that have happened in my life that I never expected. They were painful, and I thought they’d never end.

I am a huge fan of Nicki Koziarz, and when I saw this book, I knew I had to have it!

Your New Now Review

In Your New Now, Nicki uses the story of Moses to examine how we all go through times of transition in our lives. Sometimes they’re painful and we can question what exactly God is doing.

When you look at Moses’ life, it’s easy to see that he spent a lot of time just waiting for the next thing. He lived in Egypt until he was forty. Then, he lived in the desert for another forty years before God called him back to Egypt to rescue the Israelites.

I wonder if there were times he thought God would never use him to do anything?

I know there have been times in my life when I thought God could never turn out for my good. But so far, He always has!

I love how Nicki takes us right into Moses’ story, and her own life, and shows us how God is always working, shaping, and molding us for His will.

When I first started reading, I thought I knew the transition I was in (there are four), but as I traveled through the pages, I realized I’m in some different transitions in different areas of my life.

I know that there are places in my life where I’m in a season of development. But when I got to the chapter about separation, I knew it was for me.

The book has helpful mini-Bible studies to help you really hone in on the lessons you’re learning. I have never looked at Moses in quite this way before, and I love looking at it in this new light.

Recommendation

Maybe you’ve heard the saying “Grow through what you go through.” That’s how I feel about Your New Now.

If you’ve ever felt stuck like God doesn’t see or hear you, and like you just don’t have purpose, Your New Now is the book you need. I love how Nicki makes Biblical principles so accessible and easy to understand.

You will finish with a new perspective on your life and a new faith that God is working in your situation. This is such a great and encouraging read for Christian women. I highly recommend it–even if you think you aren’t in a transition stage now. You will be someday and will be so thankful for this Nicki’s encouraging words!
