An Overview of the Christmas Story–A Quick Recap
The Christmas story is a timeless and beautiful tale that captures the true meaning of the Christmas season. At the center of it all is the birth of Christ, a miraculous event that is celebrated by millions around the world.
According to the Bible, a young couple named Mary and Joseph traveled to Bethlehem for the census. With no room available at the inn, they were forced to take refuge in a stable where Mary gave birth to baby Jesus.
The most miraculous part of this story is that Mary was a virgin, and Jesus was truly the Son of God. He came to earth to save us from our sins! The heavenly host brought this news to shepherds in a nearby field, and they came to the stable to see the baby Jesus. They were so excited, they spread the new all around the country.
From humble beginnings, Christ’s influence would go on to provide a way for all of us to be saved and live with God in Heaven forever. And it all started in a simple stable!
As we celebrate the Christmas season, instead of focusing on Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer or Santa Claus, let’s use the opportunity to point our kids toward Christ.
