Book Review: Point of Danger by Irene Hannon
I love starting a new series by a favorite author. New characters, new plots, new situations. And that’s why I was really excited for Irene Hannon’s new book, Point of Danger.
I also really hate starting a new series by a favorite author. Chances are I’m going to love it, and will read it in just a few days. Then I’ll have to wait a whole year for the next one.
I didn’t let that stop me, and I dove into the new Triple Threat series.

Summary
Eve Reilly is used to getting hate mail. She’s a popular conservative talk radio host who speaks her mind. Some people don’t like her opinions, and regularly send threatening letters.
But when she returns home one afternoon to find a bomb on her porch, she’s worried. She never felt that she was in real danger.
Brent Lange has just been promoted to detective. The bomb threat against Eve Reilly is his first case
Brent is convinced that a relationship isn’t in his future. But as he investigates Eve’s case, he finds himself drawn to her.
As the threats to Eve increase, Brent must figure out who’s behind them. Are the threats coming from one of her listeners? Or somewhere closer?
Point of Danger Review
Point of Danger puts you on alert from the very first word. And the suspense only gets better from there.
As I read, I kept thinking that I felt like the story could’ve been ripped from the headlines. The hate for conservatives who voice their opinion is real! Throw in some protestors and Antifa, and this story really could be something that happens in a big city.
I liked that Eve is a strong woman. I thought the angle of a conservative female talk show host was interesting.
I had a hard time with the character of Brent. I would’ve liked to see him featured a bit more. I think I had a hard time understanding his backstory.
One thing I always like about Irene Hannon’s stories is her side characters and background stories. Point of Danger has some really good ones. Megan was one of my favorites.
And it was nice to see some characters from Irene’s other series make an appearance too. I love when authors do that!
I was also interested in Eve’s two sisters, who I assume will be featured in books in the rest of the series. I think I’m going to really enjoy their stories, too.
Probably my favorite part of Point of Danger is that you occasionally get a view from the point of view of the bad guy, but you can’t quite figure out who it is. And this one has some rabbit trails you don’t expect!
Point of Danger is a great read. It has a lot of suspense to keep you on your toes, but just enough romance to keep it fun. It definitely has some non-traditional characters, too. (Strong female lead, anyone?) You may or may not like that. I’ll leave it to you to decide!
Irene Hannon has definitely started a great new series with Point of Danger. Now, I just need to find something else to read while I wait for the next installment!
